Brake disc area
Examine brake discs for grooves and
tears. Fig. 1 shows four different brake
disc wear pictures.
a) A net-shaped formation of tears is
permitted.
b) Tears on the braking surface with a
maximum of 1.5 mm width and depth are
permitted as long as they do not exceed
75% of the braking surface.
c) Grooves on the braking surface are
permitted as long as they are no deeper
than 1.5 mm.
d) Brake discs with tears that go across
the entire braking area surface are not
Fig. 1 permitted and all discs on that axle must
be replaced.

Wear measurement
The absolute wear measurement of the
brake disc is embossed on the exterior Ø
(Fig. 2). When the specified measure-
ment is reached D= min. TH, the brake
discs must be renewed for the entire
axle.
Disc warp
A maximum disc warp of 0.15 mm is
permitted.
Further, pay attention to the maintenance
and repair instructions provided by the
Fig. 2 brake and vehicle manufacturer.
